Pacific Crest Trail Sketchbook Volume 1

Kevin Gleason / 8 Comments

Here is a flip-through of the first 900 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail, making a painting a day and hiking about 20 miles a day.  It has been wonderful seeing the many beautiful ecosystems throughout Southern California and the Sierras!

Incredible sketchbook - I enjoyed seeing it day by day- each painting was a delight! You are a talented artist and ecceptional colorist! Congrats on such a noteworthy undertaking.

Kevin,
Congratulations on the first 900 miles and the incredible collection of the scenic wonders of the trail. What an accomplishment. Enjoy Lake Tahoe and your family.

Loved seeing your sketches...I liked them more than postcards ...Must be a mesmerizing journey...

Kevin,
You are a true inspiration as I'm using your epic trek and awesomely varied paintings to live vicariously as I'm mobility challenged recovering from double foot surgery Thanks for your valiant daily postings.

Kevin,
I am a long time friend of Rita and have so enjoyed following along on your amazing journey. Your art is capturing the beauty of this trail and I continue to be inspired by your resilience as 20 miles a day is no easy feat. I look forward to continuing on with you as you leave Lake Tahoe and discover the beauty of the north. Safe journey onward.

As a retired teacher too, I shared the wish to have a great adventure when you suddenly "have time". We went to Antarctica so nowhere near as invested as yours but so fulfilling. Fourteen years later I will say retirement itself is a great adventure! Carry on with joy...

Such beautiful colors and panoramas. Your passion jumps off the pages. 20 miles on the PCT would dull artistic inspiration in most , yet it clearly only inspires you. Keep it up! Will you offer your works to us for purchase at some point? I'd be delighted to help fund your onward journey. Tom Belt

Enjoyed everything about this!
